IMCom est un client Jabber tr¨s puissant. Mais il en rebutera srement plus d'un car il n'est utilisable qu'en mode texte. C'est par contre le seul moyen de vous connecter sur votre profil Jabber quand vous n'avez pas de client graphique. Supposons que vous n'avez pas encore configur IMCom.

Dans un shell, lan§ons IMCom :

IMComm ne trouve pas notre profil par dfaut et nous invite  en crer un. Entrons un nom pour notre profil (Champ libre). Je configure mon compte Gnubox, donc je vais appeler mon profil Gnubox, mais mettez ce que vous voulez.

Pour obtenir de l'aide, rien de plus simple, tapez :

dans votre console IMCom, et vous obtiendrez un (tr¨s) long message d'aide sur les commandes d'IMCom :

/show              : Show members of a particular group
/submitvcard       : Submit your vCard information to the server
/switchprofile     : Switch to another profile from your config
/unalias           : Remove an existing alias
/unloadmod         : Unload a module
/unregister        : Unregister with a transport
/version           : Print out the version of IMCom you are using, or query a user about what client they are
                     using.
/xa                : Set your status to eXtended Away
